X on Greek Crisis

As a Greek, I could not neglect the whole scary "Greek Crisis" issue that everyone reads about. It is undeniable that the whole world is changing. However, some countries are already greatly affected. And when we are referring to Greece, it's not just affected, it's on the verge of (selective) default. There's a thing with that (highly) important topic in greek and foreign media; you just don't know which one is reliable to trust. Are we really going down? Is the world on the verge of a Third (financial) World War? Or are we frightened to death by all these news, just because they want us to be like that? It's up to you to pick up a side. Maybe they're both wrong. We might be between those two, facing an apt financial crisis, with unemployment rising and debts increasing, but we are not going to be vanished. As some point out, it's not the Greeks that are on debt, it's the Government. And here comes the "Greek citizen" reference. Suddenly Greeks are presented worldwide as ignorant, sluggish, trickster, good-livers that led the country to that state. Well, it's not exactly like that.

Of course we all have a slight responsibility on every day matters that just didn't work out well, but these adjectives are mostly attributed to our politicians. To the majority of them that preferred to grab as much as they can, without thinking of the consequences. And why not grab, when you know that you will never be punished for that? Come on, admit it, you might have done the same if you were in their shoes. And that's where we find you guilty too. The most annoying of all, is when they try to convince you that what you see is NOT what you get.

No, the policeman that hit the old lady in the face did not do it after orders, he was defending himself. No, he did not hit unconscious men. No, government is not leading you to bigger debts. No, the prime minister is not useless. No, they are not going to destroy you, they are saving the country. No, you are not a sheep, you are a citizen. No, the media is never wrong. No, don't believe anyone except the news. No, the country is not in debt, it's just a propaganda. No, the country won't default. No, the unemployment is not rising. No, you are not paid as much as you should, you'd better lose even more, until you starve.

NO, you are not going to die. But if you want to, you're welcome. We can't pay you anyway.

Sometimes what is known as common sense is sooo hard to find....
